Our lives mirror the agave plant that grows a stalk and blooms near the end of it’s life. We too can bloom towards the end of life if we are surrounded by support and the space to allow death to be full of dignity and grace.
The Agave Bloom
My journey to becoming an end-of-life doula began with personal experience. I discovered the profound difference that compassionate, knowledgeable support can make during life's most vulnerable moments.
I realized that dying doesn't have to be something we face with fear and isolation. With the right support, it can be a time of connection, meaning, and even peace.
My Philosophy
Person-Centered Care
Every person's wishes, values, and beliefs are honored. Your journey is unique, and your care should reflect that
Cultural Sensitivity
I respect and honor diverse cultural, spiritual, and religious traditions around death and dying
Holistic Support
I address physical comfort, emotional wellbeing, spiritual needs, and practical concerns as an integrated whole
Family Inclusion
Supporting loved ones is central to the work. I help families navigate this time together with compassion and understanding
What is an End of Life Doula?
An end-of-life doula, also known as a death doula or death midwife, is a non-medical professional who provides holistic support to dying individuals and their families. We complement medical care by addressing the emotional, spiritual, and practical aspects of the dying process.
Unlike hospice nurses or medical professionals, doulas do not provide medical care. Instead, we offer:
Emotional and spiritual support
Help with advance care planning and legacy projects
Education about the dying process
Vigil planning and presence
Support for family members and caregivers
Assistance with creating meaningful rituals and ceremonies
Coordination with hospice and medical teams
Grief Support
Let’s Talk
I offer free a initial consultation to discuss your needs and how I can support you and your loved ones.
